Protest votes. It’s an index of the sense of futility in our society over what our votes bring us. In other words, aside from the occasional non-rational person who voted Kanye to get Kanye, I bet those voters would not have thrown their votes if they thought they mattered.

Those were the only states where he made it on to the ballot. I wonder how many write-in votes he got in the others.

The real surprise when I saw the list was over 4k in Utah. Utah just doesn’t seem like a very Kanye state.
